Naples, FL—October 2013
Advanced Software Products Group (ASPG) has announced the latest release of its popular MegaCryption encryption software. The release features enhanced key portability and reusability between different key management systems, increasing security while protecting existing cryptography investments. New support for additional symmetric and hashing algorithms has also been added, including IDEA 128-bit, ARC4 128-bit, and SHA-512 when CPACF is active.
According to ASPG’s Vice President of Technology, Tom Andrews, the new enhancements to MegaCryption are aimed at making it easier for users to manage all of their cryptography needs from one central software installation. “Increasing MegaCryption’s interoperability with existing and legacy systems means users now enjoy better key portability than was previously possible,” said Andrews. “It aids in migrations to more modern cryptography platforms, it simplifies key management for users, and very importantly, it helps protect their existing investments in cryptography.”
The MegaCryption software, known for its powerful capabilities in handling cryptography for data at rest, in flight, and in process, is continuously enhanced by ASPG to provide users exactly the cryptographic capabilities they need, whether that need is in flat-file encryption, VSAM file encryption, field-level encryption for DB2 databases, encrypting for the Cloud, or a host of other potential uses. The latest release also adds enhancements to the ISPF cryptography wizard, enables the generation and import of large DSA/DSS keys, allows for serial decryption of PKCS#7 messages, and enhances the symmetric encrypt/decrypt routines used for IBM’s DB2 Distributed Data Facility.
But to Andrews, the importance of this release goes way beyond just its software enhancements. “As McAfee nears the end of its support for its E-Business Server, it’s important for people to know that MegaCryption can handle all of their cryptography needs, both internally and in conjunction with their clients,” he said. “With this added support, it’s now even easier for E-Business users to make a painless switch to a world-class cryptography product that’s already in use by governments, universities and Global 5000 companies all around the world – and our plan is to just keep making it better through these kinds of continuous enhancements.”
