Specializing in the protection of DB2 data at rest, MegaCryption DB2 encrypts critical data at the DB2 field [column] or table [row] level. MegaCryption DB2 complements any encryption process you may already have in place for other platforms. While it does not require IBM’s ICSF in order to encrypt data, it can take advantage of IBM’s CPACF clear-key acceleration for enhanced speed during processing. MegaCryption DB2 can encrypt entire tables or just selected fields. As encrypting and decrypting data are processes that add time to any insertion or retrieval of data from a database, choosing to encrypt only sensitive fields can exponentially improve the performance of enterprise systems that tend to be backed by the DB2 database, saving your organization a great deal of time and money.
